NPE Gets Recognized on Twitter by Some Very Famous People

Monday, October 31, 2016

During a recent school-wide assembly, students at Nate Perry Elementary sang a very powerful song called A Beautiful Day.

The song, composed by India Arie during an appearance on Good Morning America with co-host Robin Roberts, highlights many of the character strengths the students are learning about as part of The Positivity Project.

NPE Principal Dana Ziegler was so impressed with the students’ performance of the song that she tweeted out a short video and tagged Arie. She wrote “NPE loves your song and the powerful message.”

Arie soon responded, telling Ziegler she was “Crying while smiling.”

The singer-songwriter then tagged Roberts to make sure she saw it too.

And when Roberts did, she responded to both Ziegler and Arie, tweeting “You just put a huge smile on my face…bless you all!”

The Positivity Project is a 501c3 that helps America's youth build stronger relationships by seeing the character strengths in themselves and others. The goal is to develop leaders and citizens who will strengthen communities and countries by internalizing the belief that “other people matter.”
