What’s New with Liverpool CSD Food Service
Friday, September 11, 2020
The Liverpool Central School District Food Service Department is committed to feeding all of our students healthy, nutritious and tasty meals even though school looks different this year.
From now until the end of December, the LCSD Food Service Department will feed all students at no charge regardless of income status. We are able to do this under a special program through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). In the event that funding for this program runs out prior to the end of December, students will once again need to pay for their meals unless they qualify for free/reduced priced meals.
The Food Service Department has mailed home copies of the free and reduced meal applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Please submit your free/reduced applications as soon as possible as this information is still time sensitive.
Elementary students will receive their meals in the classroom. We are only offering the main meal (at least initially) for ease of service. If a student does not want the main entrée, we always have PBJ or cheese sandwiches available.
Any elementary student attending in-person school that needs to have a bagged meal for the next day can request one through their school’s Food Service staff or by calling the main Food Service Department at 315-622-7172. We will automatically send any elementary child who qualifies for free/reduced meals boxed meals home with them on the bus. Please refrigerate them immediately. Elementary students on their remote day may pick up hot meals from their school (please see more information regarding remote learning days below).
Lunch service for Grades 7 – 12 will remain almost the same, but with additional lunch periods and fewer students attending each lunch. If a student needs a meal on their remote day, they may request one to take home through the building’s Food Service staff or they may take advantage of the hot meal pick up on their off day (please see remote learning days below).
On remote learning days or for those attending school remotely five days a week, you may pick up a hot meal and a cold bagged breakfast daily at your child’s school. You must call the LCSD Food Service Department at 315-622-7172 to set up this service. If you have students that attend different schools, you may pick up their meals at one school.
We will not be selling snack items at the elementary schools and are limiting items at the secondary schools for the time being.
We can’t wait to see and serve your students!
